I was there too that day... I'm pretty sure the Rawtenstall keeper, Manning played an important knock towards the end too. It was one of the best games I've seen at any level of cricket. Border and Woody were both drinking in the Old House long into the night after the game. Good story Fatboy47! So...

There's an amazing colour film on YouTube of Bacup vs Rawtenstall in 1949, with some great footage of Everton Weekes batting (and a crowd of about 15,000 watching). There does seem to be a real fear about any rumoured investment! I’m pretty sure there is a middle ground from an outside party investing and doing a ‘Bradford, Portsmouth going back to the 4th division’ etc etc.

If Mike knows what’s best for him he’ll back the manager and remove Rigg if necessary. One is significantly more important to the club than the other... Definitely especially as one seems to have contributed next to nothing in his time here! Of course he may prove us all wrong over the summer....

Why do we have to progress? We've already proved that we can get to 7th place in the league with the existing board. You surely don't think that a town the size of Burnley can ever compete with the current top six, however much we gamble. Gambling is a fool's game and we don't have fools on the BFC...

Two new wingers are a priority to replace the injury prone duo mentioned above. Could also see McNeil playing a more of a free role at times next season behind the striker. Add to that a younger right back like Taylor and perhaps another striker.

It can't be as simple as that though, because what "backing him" means is entirely subjective. If he wants to sign Harry Kane, then we shouldn't back him, because it would bankrupt the club. There have to be boundaries, and its Dyche job to push them and the board's job to try and maintain them, or...

The performance epitomised everything about Burnley under Dyche. To lose this manager over a rift would be an utter disgrace by the chairman and directors. Hopefully we will see an improvement in relationships over the coming weeks.
