The Cummings goal. There is a very slim paperback by Peter Fyles called Burnley's Greatest Goal. Published 1999. At that point Peter was a teacher in Stockholm. The book is the thesis he wrote whilst doing his teacher training.

The interesting thing is that Derek Gill got the club back in the money with some quite lucrative commercial deals. Plus the unexpected bonus of the Lowerhouse Land money. And then it was all splurged. The relationship between directors was toxic, Reeves injured... and it all went downhill and spect...

We used to stay with Mrs T's sister. Remember an away game at Southampton. Lost...maybe it was 2-1 or 2-0. Never seen a bloke looking more disconsolate as he trudged off at the end. As of to say just what am I doing here.

The money that Lord owed Adamson was allegedly around £4000. There was a letter floating around for some while in Adamson's possession that mentioned the money. Sura the bitterness Adamson developed towards Lord is pretty much covered in the Adamson book. Once Lord retired from the butcher business he devoted all his time to the club and began to interfere more and more. Then the sale of Dobson was the last straw for Adamson.

The club propped up his lifestyle in the later years via the 'invoices' he submitted, usually on scraps of paper... he was always suspected of taking a little slice of money made on sales... when the new regime took over in 81, their findings were that he had taken out out several thousand pounds.. ...

Our house up Longfield Road had clear views of the viaduct that crossed the road by the market. Steam trains left right and centre, left to Manchester, right to Leeds or up the valley to Burnley. Even in the fifties our attic still had the old blackout curtains rolled up. Never got tired of watching...

jrgbfc… I haven't seen anywhere that we are wanting the EU to help us out… and desperately relying on them... they can't even help themselves...see Italy Spain and France, and are in complete disarray with even the arch-European the Emperor Macron incandescent at EU uselessness and in-fighting.

I'd put him number one because of the wide range of jobs he had to do, virtually a one-man show, including the washing up.
