The foul on Amdouni couldn't be overturned by VAR as it was neither a red card or a penalty. It was simply an awful, awful decision. 84-87 were dark times. We were on a downward spiral and there didn’t seem to be a way to reverse it. It took the stark possibility (in fact at the time it seemed very likely) of what faced us on the morning of the Orient match to shake us out of it.
