Re: Palace away - quietly optimistic...
Not expecting a result, but I just want us to at least show a bit of fight! If we are going to get beat, let's at least make Palace come away thinking they've been in a tough game. Far too often this season games have passed us by, and we've done very little to make the opposition get out of second ...

Re: Thread for tonight?
Opposition aside, as tonight is a pointless exercise... I think this has got to be the softest, most unlikeable Burnley team I've seen. There just doesn't seem to be any passion, pride or grit. I know it's an unquantifiable thing but you can sense it can't you? All footballers at this level are pam...

Has the demeanour of a man who doesn’t want to be here. Not arsed, strolls around for his odd cameo. Doesn’t even attempt to bust a gut to try and clinch a starting place. Looks fairly content to sit of the bench and pick up a wage. Oh, and what a great way to win over a Burnley crowd, by the way. S...

Re: Weak, powder puff , gutless and simply not good enough
It all started with a summer of rank bad recruitment. A team that is unbelievably disjointed and massively overweighted with luxury type players. I’m all for bringing in young attacking talent, but it needs to be more refined and balanced with some experienced heads who know what it’s like to be in ...

Ive never bought a house, never worried me. I have a lifetime tenancy, nice house in a rural area. Rent is fixed and is cheaper than a mortgage. No worrying about repairs or costly problems. Dont know why people are obsessed with owning a house. Quite possibly one of the worst takes I've ever read ...

A performance that sums up why we will go down. File amongst the West Ham and Palace games. We have periods in games when we’re on top (see first half tonight) and invariably fail to capitalise on our good moments. Experienced PL teams then have the nous to press us high, or cause us to make mistake...

Wouldn’t go that far, but there is a worrying trend emerging. Once we go a goal down there’s a real lack of desire and belief we can get back into the game. You expect more defeats in the PL, but the manner in which we’re whimpering out of games is happening too often now for it to be coincidental. ...

We do look a bit more settled in possession, especially when we’re passing it around in our half. The two centre mids also seem more comfortable dropping deep, to allow for those Muric passes into them.

Apart from the odd 20 mins here and there, we’ve not consistently put in a good performance for the full 90.
I thought in the 2nd half of the Luton game we were incredibly lucky not to concede further. The won everything aerially in our box.

So tough to call, at the minute I'd say 'no' but really hope I am wrong. If we beat Luton, the confidence and momentum will shift massively and you could easily see us going on a mini run of picking up points. I think we'll be fighting to avoid that 3rd relegation spot. Still think this will be a very tough game. They seem a strong physical side, and after watching their highlights against Everton, a threat from set pieces.
Just hope we can deal with it, as you’d think this will be an area they try and exploit.
