Thanks for the replies
I guess just ordering tickets online on the day and scanning in off the mobile should be simple enough.
Hopefully 3 points incoming!

Couple of matchday questions…
Alright so I’ll be making a long awaited return the Turf for the Norwich game (I’ve been living in New Zealand for over 10 years) and wondering two things… 1) Can I still pay at the turnstiles or do I need to go ticket office first? 2) Where’s the best place to park the car these days (ideally free)...

Brilliantly funny watch - thanks for sharing! He really should have a more regular thing going, maybe podcasts or after-dinner speaking. Some great (and painful, yet funny looking back) memories too. Glen seems to remember a lot of the details well, oppositions, scorers, etc. better than most ex pla...

Well done for organising this. Probably can’t make that weekend as I’ll be away but great to see there’s other clarets around. I live up in Orewa (north of Auckland).

Re: The Haka
There’s generally more respect in international competition. We even (mostly) manage to respect national anthems in football. Having lived in NZ 7years (I’m a citizen now) I’m not keen on rugby - it’s generally the first and last thing in the news every day, but the Haka is culturally important here...

Re: VAR Penalty 2nd Half?
Seems to be the norm in the past few weeks, perhaps agreed between officials that with penalty calls the VAR will just always agree with the referees judgement. I think they’ll only change decisions if there’s something the ref missed completely, off the ball. Plus offsides like the Spurs one at Lei...

Haven’t seen it but I’ve heard complaints that the Colombian keeper also came off his line but went unpunished. Can’t comment on that particular incident but it exemplifies the fundamental flaw in VAR for me... how selectively it’s being used. If it isn’t even used consistently for both teams in one...

Thinking of our midfield options, wonder if Aiden O’Neill might get a bit of a look next season? He’s just won player of the year for Central Coast Mariners (admittedly for a terrible side in a poor standard league). * I’m not suggesting he should as I’ve barely ever seen him play but just thought w...

Got to meet him before the game on Saturday. Very polite young chap. The way they set out really needs a big guy up front as an outlet and to hold the ball up. He’s vital for the All Whites.
Also saw 4 other clarets on the day. Burnley shirts in amongst the White Out!

Agreed he’s been truly outstanding at the back so far and hopefully we’re doing all we can to sign him up for a contract extension.
One thing we’re maybe missing from Keane is his goal threat from set pieces... would love to see Tarky develop in that area.

I'll be flying to Wellington to see the NZ home leg. Dates not yet decided.
Think a lot of kiwis are happy that it's "only Peru" but they're in good form, in a tough qualifying group, and ranked (for what it's worth) over 100 places above the All Whites. It'll be tough!

Re: Not born in Burnley never lived in Burnley but still a Claret?
I was Chorley born & bred. Had no connection with Burnley until I was 11 and a mate's dad (originally from Burnley) took us to the Turf. It was 1992 so a fine time to do so! That was it for me. Not many Clarets in Chorley so life was difficult especially with Blackburn doing well and the bandwagon t...

And if the boss was willing to let Barnes go, surely he'd have gone... there was apparently plenty of interest.

I think one football coach might be looking for a new job if it all goes wrong in the second leg with their best two players released True, although a 5-0 defeat to the Solomon Islands would be pretty inexcusable whatever the lineup! I think it's a canny attempt to keep those players and their club...

Howieson now plays for my local side Auckland City and I'd say that's about his level. All Whites games are few and (very literally) far between. Nothing like as many games as European nations. The qualifiers and OFC games against the Pacific Islands are normally bunched together so the demands of i...

Burnley have made the 6 o'clock news here in NZ (where they're happily discussing his "$3million salary", the headline being there's another kiwi in the Premier League earning big bucks).
Fingers crossed we're seeing him on the news again with with goals at Ewood and Wembley in the next few days...

Re: Bid rejected for chris wood
Wood has never really impressed me when I've seen him play (despite his impressive tally last season) and I can honestly say I'd much prefer to stick with Vokes as our target man. Barnes will never be prolific but offers plenty in holding the ball up and bringing others into play (as well as being a...
