Re: Hillsborough - 35 years

Whenever I think about it I cannot understand how that end of the ground had not been closed or modified by the authorities. I recall thinking that the design was flawed when I was there for the Newcastle semi in 1974. It truly was a disaster waiting to happen and unfortunately for Liverpool fans, t...

Re: penalty decision

The penalty decision was diabolical. The defender didn't get the ball before he took the Burnley player down. Imagine that decision at the Kop End at Anfield or the Stretford End at Utd. It would have been given in an instant with a yellow card shown to the defender and VAR would have given the OK i...

I am absolutely drained after that match. I kicked every ball and won every header but mine goes in off the bar. J Rod you were so close to winning that. Fabulous effort from that team despite the efforts of the ref to spoil a decent game of football.

If anyone remembers the "El Greco" cafe that used to be near the bus station, it was my after match snack. They used to do a ham and beetroot bap which was wonderful after we'd won and comforting after we'd lost.

I think that the rules on obstructing goalkeepers are being interpreted different by referees. You are now allowed to "interfere" with a keeper at set pieces which is not good news for Trafford. You need a keeper who is a cross between a giraffe and a gorilla. Muric might fit the bill.
