Who was the last team to go straight from League One to the Premier League? Southampton maybe?
Ipswich themselves went from the Championship into Europe in the early 2000s, they have a habit of doing well after promotion.

I think he did touch it… that's why it was an own goal - according to my Fantasy Football anyway
Yep he did, but the point is, if it had been a Brighton player that played the ball towards goal, then Muric did exactly what he did, it would be credited to the Brighton player, not a Muric OG.

Apologies. You are dead right. We got the point at Southampton and Preston won away at Birmingham with, as you say, a classic Ross Wallace free kick. I'm guessing that if Preston hadn't won at Brum then that point might have been enough or am I digging a deeper hole for myself? No, I think you're r...

Think I'm right saying a point at a very feisty Southampton in 2009 got us a play off place. 2-2 at the end of the match. We only clinched a play off place on the last day, at home to Bristol City (4-0). I seem to remember being gutted after the Southampton game. I think PNE had won in the last min...

It's each to their own, but I've never understood the appeal either. You get soaked and it's a poor view.

From a good stream: Muric 7 - great saves, but could have easily given away two goals Assignon 9 - goal and assist, the first Burnley defender to do both in a PL game since Danny Fox in February 2010 (thanks BBC) O 'Shea 8 Esteve 7 Taylor 6 Uncharacteristic mistake Vitinho 6 Cullen 8 - if we're to c...

What makes you think Massengo would be good enough? Not a dig as i've not seen him play, i'm genuinely curious.
He was a very decent player at Bristol City according to a mate of mine who lives in Bristol. He can't understand why we haven't given him more game time.

This is great news. A central midfield of Cullen, Brownhill and Massengo is more than good enough to take us back up. Assuming Berge won't stick around (I'd love him to but we'd get good money for him.)

Missed some bad ones but scored a few worldies too. Sheff Weds away, PNE away (his first goal), his lob against Fulham in the cup.
He did pretty well for us when we were top of the league, alongside Taylor, but we didn't get enough out of him overall.

Absolutely. They player we got in to replace him is - so far - not the same class at all
Who?
I loved him but, remember, Tella did nothing in the Premier League at Southampton. I think Amdouni etc. would look far better in the Championship.

Wow, the bind moggles! This took me back to when we paid 1m for Ian Moore and I thought "oh gosh, that's a lot of money, it's more than I earn in a month!!" That must've felt like £20m for Stockport in 2001 for a striker who "worked his socks off" but didn't score many goals. I think Moore was the ...

to many people in the US 10 million is found down the back of the sofa I think this is probably the case, the 'smaller' investors such as the Watts are most likely just doing it for the enjoyment and kudos of owning a stake in a football club as it's 'small change' to them. Really excellent podcast...

I'm looking forward to TST. I'd never heard of it, but was listening to Lee Trundle on Undr the Cosh last Friday. He was talking about it as he plays for Wrexham in it. It's an interesting concept as every game goes to extra time. If the leading team scores one more goal in ET then it's game over, b...

Sorry to hear Fretters. I've renewed but it was the first time I can remember where I've had to think about it. I've just had my cancellation confirmation email which I'm actually quite upset about. But our gas and electric contract came to and end, increasing our direct debit by £100 and childcare costs have gone up substantially too, so something had to give
Really gutted.
