Re: Yesterday's refereeing

Anyone else noticed a relatively new trend for refs. They have stopped blowing for free kicks from contested headers if the ball goes to the team fouled against. The giving of the free lick was good for us because it gave us a free cross into the box whereas now we get possession of the ball usually...

Alfie Mawson 20 million swansea to fulham. Many on here complaining we wouldnt meet the same terms. Played 22 times for fulham, only 7 times this season.

Che Adams 15 million 7 appearances no goals are both examples of upgrades!

Id say the season so far has been excellent, i believe we are the best team in our league (just outside the top 10). The results reflect that, we beat the teams below us but struggle slightly with the teams above us.

I would expect them to publish a full explanation of every VAR decision imediately afterwards from now on.

The conspiracy theorists would say they bottled it today, realised they got it wrong and rushed out a statement hoping it would dampen the fire.

Do they do this for every decision or is this big game basis?

Do we get these releases for every VAR decision in our games?

I wonder how they feel about VAR? The body language yesterday would indicate they arent enjoying the experience.

The ref was having a largely quiet game until the Wood goal and then he was public enemy no 1 for a decision he didnt make.

Either the league has ultimate power and it doesnt because the clubs are the members or it does everything it can to keep clubs going.
