Well, i don't know how it compares in the UK these days, but in the Czech Republic, the teachers are without doubt underpaid, be it compared to LIDL staff or anyone else

As it is, you can get more working in LIDL, so the base salary is in dire need of that 10% raise, in case that seems excessive

In simple terms:
Teachers asked for 15% raise
Government agreed 10%
Government then reneged and decided 2% to be determined by headteachers and 8% granted across board.
Teachers already tired of govt reneging on agreements have had enough and are striking

I like Jeff, he might not be 1st choice in any position, however we have consistently shown that we struggle to recruit quality back-up for either the wings or the central midfield positions, so a new contract for Jeff would seem to be common sense really. 2 years with an option of a 3rd in the club...

Not sure how on earth Derby will get away with sacking the one who wasn't driving for gross misconduct though because he wouldn't take a pay cut. They should move heaven and earth to get Edwin Van der Saar in as Dir of Football. He's worked wonders at Ajax and would be mad to jump ship, frankly but if he could be persuaded there is no way they shouldn't get him in
