Re: Burnley to get a Starbucks
And did you know that Tim Horton was a real person? He played defence for the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Buffalo Sabres of the NHL. Had a few extra quid to throw around, so he started a doughnut shop on Ottawa Street in Hamilton, Ontario. People loved the coffee (which is actually standard fare Mot...

If Tim Hortons ever came to England, I'd have faith in their training programmes to teach proper etiquette to their staff. Wait!!! It's England!!! You're right. But the best actual doughnuts are Krispy Kream, but their coffee is shiite. Timmy's now has a full range of meal options, which are actuall...

Re: Religion wins again
Greenmile, it was you making direct quotations from the Bible, not me. A person doesn't need to know every word in order to be a believer. You're arguments are all based on your hatred of others who find solice in the good book. I just hope that you find some way to get the hatred out of your heart....

Re: Religion wins again
"hell" and "Hell" are 2 different places. The first is a generic term, while the second denotes a specific place. Did Jesus mean to capitalize "hell", or was He referring to a place that many human beings hold in their hearts? Only the individual can decide that, because the Bible was written by hum...

Greenmile, there are many schools of theology where many deep questions are asked. I have yet to know of a School of Batman, although I'm beginning to suspect that you are a large consumer of said material. If you believe Hogwart's actually existed, let me know when you find it.

You're right. Because nobody's gone and come back. No, actually 3 have in the Bible. So, I guess there are 2 of them there. There ARE supposed contradictions. But it still doesn't neglate the feelings I hold in my heart.

And willsclaret, what the Bible says is that non-believers are consigned to non-existence, while believers are taken to a better place, without the pains that affect everyday life. There are typos in the Bible. Why not? It was written by human beings. The apostle Paul actively persecuted Christians before having his epiphany. We're all sinners. The key is to ask for forgiveness, in whatever form you choose. Only Catholics and Anglicans believe in the absolute truth of a Pope o...

Religion takes many forms. Buddhists have prayer wheels. Shintos worship their ancestors. Animalists think that the rain forests are inhabited by various spirits. Whatever works for you. Just don't deny anybody's right to worship, as long as it's non-pervasive.

That is true, B-o-T, only if man lacks a soul. I'm in the camp that what separates man from the beasties is the ability to look at one's actions and criticize if they are "good" or "bad".
