They changed the rules re touch line bans before this season - banned after three yellow cards, reduced from four. Dyche had one at Everton a week or two before Kompany’s.

On the other hand, Fofana missed an open goal, then slipped while rounding the keeper after nicking the ball off him, an xG of nearly 3 and 17 shots on goal. Agreed we had some messy moments and we were nervy at the end (perhaps understandable) but we really should have wrapped the game up sooner.

His success last season was based around a combination of shrewd signings and Dyche players (Taylor, Roberts, Brownhill, Cork, JBG, Jay, Barnes) and this season has been an absolute car crash in every single way. Don’t really get the Townsend shout, who hasn’t really been pulling up any trees for Luton. Ok you can say we could have dealt with it better, but that’s a different issue. We also did sign Redmond, who again has suffered an unfortunate injury.
