I didn’t do it, but on a school trip to the Beacons a few of us (aged 13-14) did the challenge with the chap running the show (ex SAS) without the pack and we did the course in 5 hours or so - unbelievably tough and we were fit lads. Good luck Inchy :)

Rick, maybe it's best to ask the police if they act upon a stolen vehicle signal straight away? They don't seem to bother about burglar alarms going off. Car thieves know exactly where to look for the trackers. Either put them in a garage out of sight or buy a high volt impact wrench and just take the back wheels off every night and replace in the morning. Would only take seconds.
