We went when nations began to open up after covid. Valetta was a worthwhile visit as was the fishing town of Marsaxlokk. All very doable on public busses in an afternoon.

Also did a trip on the ferry to Gozo.

Their comment regarding work permit suggests they expect approval of work permits within 'coming days' I did find that interesting given there is no real function of tracking matters with UKVI. I can only assume they have specific contact points at UKVI being a football club spending a lot of money..

Why not periodically use sniffer dogs in the ground side of turnstiles. I am sure the clubs can pay the cost of training and utilising the dogs.
