The pitch slopes towards the Jimmy Mac so presumably it’s easier to play that way in second half when legs are tiring a bit. Fine margins but nevertheless could make a difference.

Playing against Burnley is easy for opposition at the moment. Just keep it tight, be patient and eventually we’ll make a mistake and give you a chance. That’s exactly what a Palace did.

I can never really understand why we bother teaching German in schools. Aside from the Germans, Swiss and Austrians, it’s not a particularly widely spoken language. Contrast that with Spanish, which is much more widely spoken around the world yet plays second fiddle to German in many schools.
