Re: ARTICLE: John Bond – June 1983 to August 1984

Ironically, always thought he never got the Right back sorted, Steve Baker & Waldron wasn't the answer. It was a bold move, but I guess we didn't have the cash to sustain it. We would have had to have got promotion at the 1st attempt. The board having sacked Bond when they did, the next move was by ...

Re: ARTICLE: Frank Casper – January 1983 to June 1983

We could of won the first game had Stevie Taylor not messed the pen and that was virtually the end of him, despite a couple of hatricks that season, yet more goals in him in the seasons ahead. Highlights also were beating David Speedie and Chelsea, Kevin Keegan's & Terry Mcdermot's Newcastle. there'...

Steady tybfc, "just think you could be working for Rolls Royce tonight."

Rolls Royce may be just the start of it, many people out there may have already lost their jobs but have not been told yet!

Time will tell.

Re: ARTICLE: Moving into the 1980s

Not many highs though - just the promotion in 1981/82. Despite the cup wins, the following season was nothing short of a disaster. Three times we were beaten in five consecutive league games and once more on four occasions. Basis of a great squad that needed a few additions in the right area's and ...

What a team that was 81/82 a mixture of youth and experience

Overson was a big loss the next season and the fact we could not strengthen, cost us. A few additions in the right areas and we would have been ok.

I drove up from college in Bromley Kent to Guisborough (north east) on the Friday. Radio 2 was full of Burnley going out of the league tomorrow. Then my Dad and I travelled over in the morning, picked up the prog at the ground and went over to Worsthorne, always had lunch at Andy's pub in them days....

Not knocking Dyche but his loyalty to those wearing the shirt would cause problems at bigger clubs. Its worked for him here, but there has been other cases which could have got out of hand.
