Re: Salomon Rondon

You cant have it both ways. To coin a phrase, Rondons record - not even with assists knocks spots off Woods. I'm not having anything both ways. And leaving aside assists - which rarely show the worth of a centre forward's link up game - I'm not sure how on earth you can reach that conclusion on the...

now you've counted every sub appearance as though it were a start, which is nothing if not misleading. So let's use minutes on the pitch last season. Rondon scored his goals every 237 minutes on the pitch, Wood every 255. So pretty darn similar. The year before is obviously very different, with Wood...

Its not like its a huge difference. Wood has 20 over the last two years. Rondon 18. Rondon got more this season, Wood last. Just in terms of Dawson and the prize tag - the question is surely whether it is worth £15 million to us to replace Tarks - should he leave - with someone who can slot in and perform at a level which keeps us in the premier league next season and ideally a year or so beyond. This is exactly why we have to ensure we don't get complacent. And not investing is probably on a par with overspending! A fine balance to find. Anybody else spot the comment in the article that Jay Rod may well be on the move too- simply because he might be too expensive for them to keep? Depends what Dyche wants. No per se objection to this if we need a stop gap replacement for Tarks and aren't convinced by the younger options. Lowton, for three reasons:

1. He's playing well since he came back into the side and doesn't deserve to be dropped.
2. When he's playing well (as he is) he's a more rounded and better player overall than Bardsley.
3. Given his age, he's a more important player for us in the long term than Bardsley.
