Poor day for England all told. The pitch is far better than 258, and so many shots that didn't need to be played fishing at the ball. That said the Aussies aren't the best batting team (with the odd notable exception), a strong morning session and it's game on.

Every year I think the transfer fees have peaked, and every year I'm proved wrong. The prices being banded about preseason, particularly that palace fullback to man United is mental. It certainly makes things harder for us, suddenly 10 million pound players are 20 million after a few daft signings.

Terrible news. It always surprises me how many ex athletes suffer cardiac arrest at a reasonably young age. I suppose managers go through a fair amount of stress, but presumably he was on average, a very fit 49 year old.

Why on earth would we get shut if Brady now. His asset value is more or less rock bottom after this season and he's still a good age with a lot to offer. We'd not get better cover/competition for McNeil, for the price we'd be currently able to sell Brady for, it makes nil sense.
