Re: How do we get rid of VAR?

We don’t need lines, just a person to put up, or not, their flag. 10-20 seconds later we’re underway again. You score a goal, quick glance at the linesman, flag down, carry on celebrating. Not stand around for 4,5,6 or more minutes waiting to see if you wasted your time celebrating. VAR as killed m...

Re: How do we get rid of VAR?

The argument that it works in other sports, I believe, is irrelevant. This is not other sports. This is football. It's fast, it's unpredictable, it's almost impossible to know what's intentional and what is not. There's an element of 'gamesmanship' not always found in other sports. That's why it's s...

Rank bad. Plus those collars are going to cause major wind-resistance issues. Players will be levitating in those winter months. It'll be like running with a kite. At least all those kids holding signs up asking for players' shirts will disappear! May be slightly hyperbolix there.....but, still: PAP!

It’s the same here in Oz. I was loading my truck in Ballarat the other week. Wearing my Burnley cap. Talking about throw-ins. It seems that only the Right Back or Left Back are allowed to take them even if there's a quick one as a choice. Quite often the other side have time to get into defensive shape whilst we wait for the correct thrower to arrive. Anyone else notice that?

First thing I want to see is a complete change in recruitment, no more Stephens/Crouch/Walters etc type players and more young players. Barton has talked about that incident. He'd already been sent off and was trying to incite a reaction from a City player that would lead to them having to be sent off too. Not necessarily an uncontrolled rage but more gamesmanship maybe.
