The PL can amend its own rules (I imagine) i.e. 2020/21 could start late. The PL doesn't give a damn about fixture congestion. Right now, it's only concern is keeping its paymasters happy.

He had an excellent career at Cardiff. I recall Tony saying [please correct me if my memory is playing me up, Tony] he was apparently incredibly shy.

I've just double-checked and his first manager at Cardiff was David Jones. He presumably helped PW overcome that shyness and realise his potential.
