Growing up in Buxton in the 70s, a snicket was either (with British EE diphthong) or either (with the British AI diphthong) called a ginnel, gennel or jennel....

Can you remember Derek, who ran the Leewood bars for years? 28 years, as it goes. A big Claret? He was my dad. :). Wow, oh yes of course I do. He was always there with Derwent and Margaret, keeping us all in check. Annoyingly I can't recall the surname but reckon some of the old guard will remember...

Well said Cricketfield. Tim B-T born and bred in Buxton. He was a true Buxtonian, part of a well known local family. The town was very proud of him. Glad you got to meet him and experience the delights of the Cavendish Golf Club. RIP Tim.
