Paphos clarets
Hi all. Currently on holiday in Cyprus, gutted to be missing the Turf on Monday. Hoping to meet up with some fellow Clarets at the Fiesta bar by Avanti Village to watch the match. If anyone is in the area love to see you there. UTC.

Re: ARTICLE: Fred Smith passes away
Used to deliver to Fred's paper shop in the 80's. A lovely bloke who always had time for a natter, even at 6 in the morning. Had loads of tales of his time at the Turf, including the dreaded " Managers office after training Fred". Also of preseason training after his move to Portsmouth, meeting Pete...

Re: Football agents......
Dead easy to sort out. In any other industry such as music or showbiz it is the musician or actor who pays the agent not the theatre they are going to perform in. When agents fees start coming out of players wages not clubs bank accounts things will soon change.

Dress code for Saturday
Me and the Mrs are 'upgrading' on Saturday from the lower Jimmy Mac to the Bob Lord Stand and are a little bit worried about the dress code. Are car blankets across the knees compulsory and are we in danger of bringing the average age of spectators down by about 10 years as neither of us are eligibl...

A pint at Crewe
Going to Crewe on Saturday. Does anyone have any tips for a pint before the match. Last time we went we ended up in the South St Club but it now looks like just a snooker club. If I remember rightly we got beat on the day with Ade & Gifton up front, both looking as if they'd never seen a football be...

Re: Poo dunnit
Remember back in the 70's getting a summer job with the parks department mowing grass verges. I used to come home every day covered in dog **** up to the knees from all the turds being churned out by the mowers. Then a great couple of months down on stoneyholme bowling greens with Bill Greenwood, re...

Parking and a pint at Hull
Anyone got any tips for parking and a pint near the ground on Saturday? I've had a look on City's web site and they recommend the Walton st club and the Brickmakers arms for away fans. Anybody been or got any better ideas?
