duckworth lewis for football
Given that it is looking more likely we will not be able to complete the season, perhaps something along the lines of Duckworth Lewis could be designed to work out final placings. Average points per game is to blunt an instrument, but perhaps breaking league into top 6 middle 8 and bottom 6 and work...

How is this poisonous little man still in his job should have gone last year still clinging to his £2m a year job and doing his best to wreck the image of his union members by blocking a deal. Time the players got rid or left the union perhaps.

Burnley dynamos
chalkie white was already circling and would have moved onto the ground once we went bust. Whether that project would have been a success remains to be seen. But looking at what happened at Darlington and Chester a club of some sort would have risen from the ashes .

Re: Tommy Smith
I had the privilege of meeting Tommy in the late 80's at an LFA disciplinary hearing, he was there due to the poor disciplinary record of his pub team, spent a very entertaining half hour with him whilst waiting for our cases to be heard, needless to say he had a very low opinion of disciplinary com...

Re: Tarkowski
long is also far quicker than either Tarks or Mee then again Gibson is also quicker and the lack of pace at centre back meant we could not go to 3 at the back against 10 men and put another midfielder on coz of the Vardy factor Dyche's loyalty to certain players is proving costly

say what you like about cCrouch but every time he has come on he has created chances for other players like Vydra today and the penalty claim against Morgan was Vokes having the same affect in the same time as a sub which was basically his role this season.

Re: Puzzling since Spurs game
and yet having the second worst defence in the league there have ben only 2 changes over the course of the season Heaton for Hart too late and Bardsley for Lowton Tarks and Mee seem untouchable and sometimes play like it lots of errors without consequence time for a change and a kick up the arse for...

sack root as captain far to weak and his batting has suffered ,give Anderson the captaincy in the short term at least you know the batters would get a proper bollocking after yet another batting collapse

rotation of the defence is new to dyche and the defence, which has only changed due to injury in the past including keeper. now its changing game to game and everybody is suffering because of it. get back to a settled back 5 and we will return to our normal defensive structure, although teams have i...

Re: Will a draw against Sunderland be OK?
5 games will probably define the remainder of the season and staying up Sunderland, mboro and palace away and stoke and WBA at home 7 points from these 5 games should see us safe anything from spurs, everton and manu are bonuses if we get to the last two games and are not safe then Bournemouth and w...

Re: Burnley Reserves 1943-44 Season
in 1943-44 Burnley reserves won the Burnley and district war time league and then won the championship shield at Turf Moor beating N.F.S 7-0 not surprising as the according to the Burnley Express the average age of the NFS team was 35, unfortunately no team in the paper. The team that won the league...
