Re: Daily Mail on Burnley v Napoli...

The home leg was incredible too, the atmosphere was absolutely seething. I was standing directly behind the Cricket Field End goal and had a great view of Panzanato stamping on Andy Lochhead's head. The Napoli players stayed at the Keirby and a bloke my dad worked with got all their autographs on a...

Re: Lancashire League starts this week - which is your club?

Anybody on here remember the details of the NEIL WHALLEY innings at Turf Moor. I was there and think it was against Rammy but could be wrong. All I know for sure is that it was the best innings by an amateur that I ever had the pleasure of watching, I seem to remember the Burnley pro taking all the...

No time for Accy either tbh. A lot of their fans are anti-Burnley and conveniently forget the fund raising friendlies we played for them when they were on their uppers.

Wonder if anyone here attended any of the away Fairs Cup games at Stuttgart, Lausanne, Napoli or Eintracht Frankfurt in 66/7? Or even the European Cup ties in Reims or Hamburg in 60/1? A friend's dad went to Napoli but it would be interesting to hear any tales of past European tours.

Lincoln v. Shrewsbury

Appalling challenge by that big dirty lump Matt Rhead on the Shrewsbury keeper. Officials bottled it and only gave him a yellow. To add insult to injury Lincoln have just taken the lead.

He is indeed Icelandic. One of the top refs over there apparently. Presume he's here as part of some agreement to get more experience. It wasn't a hard game to control today and he kept his cards in his pocket apart from a justified yellow for Dwight McNeil.

Clarets team is Mitchell, Birch, Koiki, N'Guessan, Cook, Younger, Bayode, McNeil, Fleming, Waiters, Jackson. Subs; Stone, Perkins, Goodridge, Massanka, Chakwana.

Think Fleming is a trialist from Norwich. A few lads with 1st team experience in the Crewe team.
