Re: This football

The result I can more than accept, they have class all over the park, the manner of the defeat was simply shocking. The basics are missing, ability to string a pass or two together, find a team mate, move. It’s just long hoofball against two central defenders that lap it up time and time again. Afte...

Re: Sheffield United's defenders

Fair play to them if they stick to it, I do fear what might happen against the likes of City and Liverpool and teams with real pace up front.
I can see us struggling against them if they do keep on with the overlapping centre halves, no pace to hit them with.

So drop Pieters for Taylor once fit? What message that give to Pieters?
He's just helped keep a clean sheet and provided two assists and you drop him......
No doubt in my mind Taylor has to now fight for his place back

Not sure how Taylor gets back in based on that performance. Was a steady first half but grew into the game and second half can’t think where he put a foot wrong. 1.5m seems a bargain signing based off today. Was good to see the back 5 being solid today in conditions that can’t of been easy to play in.

Get Drinkwater in and think even the 4-5-1 looks stronger for the away games, midfield 3 of Westwood, Drinkwater and Cork is strong. If we could just get that Defour man fit to play 90 min every week it be without doubt the strongest midfield I’ve ever seen at Burnley.

Are there 3 worse teams than us? I’d say so:-
Sheffield Utd
Norwich
Brighton
Villa

So we shouldn’t be in trouble. Expect a finish in the bottom half but as long as no lower than 17th it’s all good.
Seem to be pretty sharp as well if the last two home friendlies anything to go off
