I grew up in the 60's and recall all those names Clarets4me has mentioned and more. The scots could have fielded 3/4 teams with the talent they had at their disposal. Although Celtic and Rangers could boast some true greats, the Scottish selectors had a blind spot with many players suffering because...

Lost all it's charm years ago. They'll be playing 6th round ties at Wembley before long.
Never used to miss Cup Final day when I was younger. Now (unless Burnley are in it ) I couldn't give a monkey's.

He played Centre Forward in the Reserves ( seemed to be preferred to Willie Irvine around the time of this game) it was the following season when Colin Blant found his true position in the number 6 shirt.

I also went to Ewood to watch that England under 23 match, when Brian played. As you say, there were plenty of Clarets there cheering Brian on. Gordon Harris....played only twice more for us after this game. Appeared to leave under a cloud. The next game, at Sheff U, was he involved in an incident which may, or may not, have hasted his departure??
