Re: What were the Clarets doing the year you came into the world?
Burnley had just finished 3rd in the old First Division. In 1963/64 there was a dip in form and the team finished 9th and got to the Quater Finals of the FA Cup. I think Jimmy Mac might have left by then

Re: Bernie Grime BGS- RIP
Bernie Grimes was part of a really decent bunch of Chemistry teachers. Mr Emmott and Gordon Allison were all teachers I respected. I remember one of our class swapping a chair and putting a broken chair at the front. Bernie came in sat on the chair and it collapsed. He was off work for months. Every...

Re: Burnley wins at Anfield
That season we nearly got into Europe I think. Brilliant team, I met Ian Brennan, Leighton James and Ray Hankin soon after that game when they turned up at Colne Baths to give me a trophy. I was more proud to meet Ian Brennan because of his goal at Anfield. The other two didn't get a look in from my...

Re: Purchase a striker in January?
Dyche has been spot on. Wood, Barnes, Jayrod and Vyds are all getting into the right areas. It will start to fall for them. The key concern is wide areas. Brady and JBG are injury prone. No real cover for Dwight. Stephens legs have gone. Balls whipped in will fall for the strikers. I like Toney as a...

Centre Forward Partnerships
Who can remember the Heath / Robinson partnership.
In that great spirit what about our first signing being someone called Wallace so we can have a Barnes / Wallace combo.
Are there any others :-
In cricket who can remember the old:-

Re: Joel Randall (son of Ady)
I remember Ady playing a blinder at Bradford on 18 October 93. Babb and Richards were the City Centre halves that day. I remember him wandering through them and smashing the ball home. We were sat in the Bradford End and the whole stand stood up and celebrated. As said previously not sure he realise...

Mick Summerbee was pretty good. He also played virtually every position in the seasaon he was with us. Tony Morley was the biggest flop who then did great things after he left us.

Not long ago Leicester were competing with us for bottom 3. Look what happened to them when they were taken over by the right long term investor. Being local doesn't mean it's better I could highlight one or two who have made a right pigs ear of it at Turf Moor.

Re: Barry Kilby and the departing directors
What a leader Barry has been. Always travelled with the fans - always had the best interests of the club at heart. I do hope the new investment will support the club to grow with us. From past experience a change in the clubs culture, and USP, has often led to disaster. Hopefully, with Sean still ar...

With Cork fit we could go 4 3 3 with attacking full backs. Westy, Brownhill, Cork are decent. Jay, Barnesy and Wood up top with Deeney coming in off the bench. Confuse a few teams.

Re: ARTICLE: I’ve felt we’ve been getting there for a while
There are games this season where Burnley have been tactically inept. Recently there seem to be signs of improvement. I hope we improve and stay up but we need to win 6 games from 17 at least.

Why bring Coyle up again? It's past. Wanders round Clitheroe dreaming of past glories whilst our Scotty wows on the other side of Glasgow. The difference could be put down to professional endeavour.

Owen Jones behaviour on This Week was in my opinion disgraceful and on the borders of slander. He should stop trying to walk into brick walls, like Andrew Neill, and stick to interviewing the likes of our Joey.

Re: Sean Dyche - The Times - 'My players softened up'
What happened in pre season in my opinion was affected by events within the Ireland squad. Something happened between certain players and the management team at Ireland. The effect was that it may have had an effect in attitude because Keane was very close to Loughlin. I don't know what happened but...

Anyone who thinks Dyche has burned out cannot remember being beaten by Scarborough on a rainy night in the 80s in front of 3000 fans with that smug manager of there's. We have had the longest sustained success in 50 years. Sean Dyche could be at Burnley for another 5 years at least.

Jack Hillman ;) How old are you? He got banned for trying to bribe the whole Nottingham Forest team. A good shop keeper and could catch 1/2 a crown from about 10 m. His England cap used to be displayed in his shop window. Jerry Dawson on the otherhand was a blacksmith and owned some property just o...

It's the same halfwits who chanted: "He tweets what he likes, Andre Gray, he tweets what he likes." There is an element of support that have been allowed to be offensive at games. Burnley Football Club have done very little to stop these so called "half wits" from being anywhere near the brand. To ...

The Headless Chicken is playing in Blue and White apparently. Defour is still with us and I like his quality. Can Sean adapt his style to benefit from that option?
