Why is the Hull game not categorised? I need a spare ticket for that match. Perhaps it's free for walk ons?

Re: Padiham v Barnoldswick Town

If you think that Burnley play hoof ball then you should have been at the Arbories today to see a perfect example of the genre.
At least the Reedley Hallows Pendleside in the clubhouse was palatable.
The match inevitably ended 0-0.

All beers yesterday at Clitheroe CC were actually £4.30 a pint. The Cumberland sausage swirl on a roll at only £3.50 was a bargain! Real ale at Lowerhouse ( JW Lees MPA ) is £2.90 a pint with 10p off for members. Clitheroe members get a massive 20% discount - that's 86p off!

Re: Bob Dylan is 80 today

I was at the infamous "Judas!" concert in Manchester just two days before my 18th birthday. Burnley had qualified for Europe and the World Cup was just a few weeks away and I was lucky enough to be at Wembley to see England win. Of course "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now!"

I believe that the Lancs League require certain criteria to be met re facilities, ground size, car parking etc. Some Ribblesdale League clubs do not satisfy these criteria and therefore unless the Lancs League relax their requirements or the Ribblesdale League clubs bring their facilities up to scra...

Re: Space behind the goals at 1960's football grounds?

I always thought Goodison was designed at both ends in the way shown. The game featured is one I attended, USSR v Brazil, with Pele and Yashin(goalkeeper) in the picture. I was behind the goal, so I enlarged the picture to look unsuccessfully for myself. What I did notice, was the vast majority of ...

I remember there being lots of coppers in the Cricket Field End that night. Most of it was being thrown at the Napoli goalkeeper in the form of (old) pennies. In fact I risked a few ha'pennies myself!

Yes I thought it was navy blue. Lawson scored 4 in the 3rd round v Chesterfield. I remember poor Doug Winton getting the run around by Peter McParland in the Villa replay. Sixty years ago today

It was 60 years ago today that I saw my first Burnley match and it was in the 4th round of the FA Cup which is why I was so delighted that we beat Sunderland in the replay so that I can celebrate my anniversary on Saturday. I can still remember a few details of that day. Standing at Milton Street bu...
