Re: Jay Rod v Wood v Barnes

Wood is our main goalscorer and much better than people give him credit for. Barnes is great at bullying defenders but hasn’t got the movement and mobility that Wood has getting in behind. Rodriguez is much more similar to barnes than Wood is, meaning any partnership is likely to be Wood and Barnes/...

Can we just appreciate that Chris Wood successfully dribbled past Van Dijk, which didn’t happen in the whole of last season. He actually had a few good touches and just couldn’t find the finishes on his left foot.

True - he should play there more often. He’s got the attributes to be all the centre mid we could ever afford - but we still need another as we only have 3 for 2 positions.

I'd like to see a couple of quality additions to go straight into the starting 11. We also need to seriously look at the average age, if this isn't addressed in the next 2 or 3 windows we're going to be left with a huge overhaul with players well beyond their peak. So let's say 4 players. 2 to star...

Defour
Cork (fine for squad)

One of the keepers (not Heaton for me)
Ward
Lennon (maybe)
McNeil ( )

That leaves us needing, a 1st team CM, and a young (preferably) rb and lb
