Jailed for 2 charges of contempt of court, was already on a suspended sentence. The court had imposed a reporting ban to ensure a fair trial, he ignored it. Reporting restrictions would have been lifted after a verdict but he compromised the process. No excuse. Deserves his fate but I’m sure he is ...

There are plans in the pipeline for the old Grammar School - see link. I was one of those who would slag our town off in the past, but it is certainly doing much better than many towns in the north west.

Worth it for as long as the armed forces swear loyaly to the queen instead of the country, preventing a despot from ever taking over. What happens if an unelected queen or king turns out to be a despot? Anyway, our armed forces might swear an oath of loyalty to the head of state, but it's the PM an...

Everton is becoming a poisoned chalice. They were dropping like a stone and BSA turned them around and he still gets the boot. His replacement will get the same if they don't make the top six. Carry on like this and they will go down sooner or later.

There is a big difference. Moderate drinking isn't classed as a killer. The same can't be said for moderate sm...

It's so easy to slip. Millions of people in the UK are only a couple of pay cheques away from the slippery slope. A couple of months without the regular wage going into the bank, through illness or redundancy, and many end up having to rob Peter in order to pay Paul. Soon enough it's a balancing act...
