Re: Sean Dyche speaks on the Eamonn and the Gaffers podcast

I have no idea whether he was close to going to Sunderland or not, but I’m not sure why the thoughts of a retired police officer should hold any more weight than the hundreds of rumours posted on here. I would agree with you normally but this guy was recently retired and had close contacts with SFC.

................. However I often wonder how close he was to the Sunderland job before Dick Advocaat had a change of mind in 2015 and if so where could he be know. I met a retired, senior police officer from Sunderland (while on holiday) soon after. He was absolutely certain that the deal with SD w...

Re: Who starts next week, wood or vydra.??

The manager’s style is to “lock the back door” and at the moment he is intent on reaching the magic 40 points, so expect a cagey game with a draw the likely outcome. When we went at them at WHL they were set up to counterattack, Son ran the length of the pitch and we took a pasting. Vydra offers not...

The priority is getting to that 40 points target - quite rightly as the weekends results proved. We are in the Dragons Den not Burnley’s got Talent so points make prizes.
Once we’ve reached that magic number you will see some experiments and changes.

Re: ARTICLE: Guðmundsson ruled out as Wood returns

I think that both players will get game time. SD will use Wood early on when the game is tight - he will want him on the pitch for defensive duties (corners and free kicks) as well as a goal threat also from set pieces.

When/ if the game opens up Vydra will be introduced as a match winner.

Re: ARTICLE: Guðmundsson ruled out as Wood returns

A nice problem to have indeed, but it’s more of a problem for Steve Bruce who won’t know which defensive strategy he will need to set up. Some of his key defenders are carrying injuries and Bruce won’t know whether he needs to defend against an aerial bombardment through Wood or the speed of Vydra.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS Jan 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)

If Watford are willing to stump up £15m it would be a risk worth taking. Gibson was only ever going to replace Ben Mee at left/centre with Long as cover for Tarks. So if Ben picks up an injury we have the players to step in for the rest of the season (Long, Pieters or Taylor).
