I know we should have defended it better, but that was never a free kick in my opinion and we go in at half time with our tails up.

I believe that socks are now designated in the rules of both the PL and EFL (at least in the Championship) as having to be a single colour with, at most, a 12mm band set at the bottom of the 'turnover' at the top of the sock (no idea what that part is really called). It was a bit daft of O'Shea to do that and receive an unnecessary yellow.
A Bournemouth player did similar later in the game and didn't receive a caution.
It's the inconsistencies from the officials I find more infuriating as much as anything.
