Re: Lennon & Pieters

I think it’s inevitable that Pieters will lose his place to Taylor at some point. Our record of signing players able to hold down a first XI spot in the last 4 windows is a concern. At some point we will need to be able to adequately replace the group of players who have pretty much seen us through ...

Re: Drink water injury

We knew he was a dickhead when we signed him. No in-depth due diligence required, just google.

That said, I wouldn’t send him back. We don’t have a plethora of alternatives.

I’d try and get him fit and playing well.

Very talented player and was in great form for around 6 months.

Unfortunately he’s been here over 3 years and just hasn’t played enough, including hardly featuring in the last 18 months.

He was never going to play for us again, so his departure makes sense and was hardly a surprise.

Based on last night we’re looking a relying on the same 11-12 players as last season and the one before to carry us through the season.

This is my problem with our last three transfer windows. We’ve been unable to improve on what we have.

It’s a penalty in the sense that Jimenez is very clever in moving his leg in front of Pieters just before the latter makes contact with the ball. There’s not really anything VAR can do to overturn it given the contact. It’s soft though and I suspect had it not been given, VAR wouldn’t have overruled...
