Re: Are we suspect at Corners?

Whoever we play, we are a big, in stature, team so if you're the opposition you have to look at alternate ways of gaining an advantage, at corners. It just seemed to me that from corners on the Southampton right they were able to manipulate situations about 15 yards from goal on our left hand side w...

Re: Burnley v Southampton - Player Ratings

Pope 6 - not a lot to do, 1 decent save. Noticeable that Tarks and Mee were encouraging him throughout - made a change from the keeper barking instructions to the centre backs. Eased back in, clean sheet - happy with that. Lowton 7 - decent. Niggled well. Tarkowski 8 - strong performance, better in ...

Are we suspect at Corners?

We bring everyone back at corners, and am aware of SDs reasons for this, yet I'm not convinced with our marking of men and space. Twice yesterday, I felt, we were exposed by corners from the right. In the 1st half Romeu was just outside the box on our left and made a latish run so had a free header ...

Re: What's the game you'll always remember

Odd this one but probably Chelsea 2 Leeds 1 FA Cup Final 1970. I'd seen the Clarets lose a 4th round replay 1-3 against Chelsea at the Turf where Coates was sensational, and where John Collins had kicked lumps out of him all night, eventually wearing him down. I'd no love for Chelsea then....but the...

Summed up for me in the West Ham game. A West Ham through ball, Heaton came out of his box and headed it to the left back. We retained possession and scored and ever looked back. It's my view, in the same situation, Hart would have stayed on or retreated to his goal line. West Ham would have had a d...
