because it is likely that "the truth" (sic) may have hampered our other recruitment in the summer - if other clubs knew we'd "lost" Defour the asking price would have been even higher as we would have been desparate. As it happens, in this instance, it had no direct affect on ou...

He had other issues and person...

This may seem a bit harsh on a Monday morning so I apologise in advance, but I was just wondering if you could actually name one thing that in your opinion the club has got right in the last 3 seasons? And I thought you reserved all your awful vitriol for Scousers. 1. What issues does Defour have that weren't physical? Could you inform us? 2. Already said he's 60/70% and that's for the Belgian League. No way would he have been able to play in our league at that level. He wasn't close to being rea...

Not a good market to go down the loan route unless its a loan to perm signing - although we could perhaps use it to our advantage better as look at Harry Wilson - but here he would be on the bench with no look in.
But another question - why the hell were we not in for him

League position is only one of a number of factors (hence the Bury example, I don't think spending so much that you have no club would be viewed as a success, even if they did get promoted). There's also the long term impact to consider. Have we budgeted correctly, have we wasted money (not every s...

The ideal would be if he plays no games at all before January, because that would mean he wasn't needed. The ideal is that the fist XI keep playing and keep winning, while the reserves aren't needed. But a word of warning - if that does happen, it still isn't appropriate to slag off the manager for...
