Could you perhaps explain to me why you had to refer to them as Americans and not just “businessmen”. Does nationality have something to do with your post? If not, don’t use it. My point is that I think if you looked across the 92, or maybe more the top leagues of European football I think there’s very few clubs not owned by ‘investors’ hoping to profit from their investment at some stage. It isn't the normal schedule, no. Sometimes you will get cup games midweek, often at KO times like 3pm or 4pm which can be a pain, but normally its just 5pm Wednesday 1 or 2 times a season. True. I’m not sure how this differs from our previous investors who also wanted to, and did, benefit from massive profits. It doesn't. Garlick took tens of millions of pounds out of the club, and the new people have done the same, and in both cases it isn't doing the club any good. These owners are...

I think Pope is England’s best keeper. I just don’t think he is suited to our style. It would make us pedestrian at the back. Would improve us with box dominance though, without doubt. Brighton fans based their prejudice on two factors. The DOGSO rule isn't about whether the player would score, it looks at the number of defenders between the incident and a direct path to goal, if it is just the keeper then it is a DOGSO and thus worthy of a straight red. It doesn't matter that the keeper would reach the ball 1st, or another defend...

They have extended the season, so the rest of the fixtures are a doddle. Two more this week (Friday, Saturday) then Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday next week, and same again the week after. Plus, of course, a Cup Final!!!

I might possibly consider it if we were the only club to get the chance and we were the only club to get the £20m. If all clubs do it and all get the £20m, then it just increases player wages and ruins the game of football yet further.

One problem with this playing about at the back, is that it doesn't get us anywhere. Most of our goals (and we don't score all that many) come from breakaways where we get the ball forward quickly. We're not good at breaking down a packed defence, or a defence that is given time to get organised.
