We definitely need some form of outside investment here. Our prudent financial stance is both admirable and completely understandable but ultimately not sustainable. Anderson in for Woakes would be the likely scenario.

A fast bowling quartet of a fit Jimmy Anderson, Broad, Archer and Stokes with Leach as the spinner would be an exciting prospect.

We would miss Woakes more for his very good and disciplined batting at number 8 than his bowling at the minute.
