Re: Turf Moor of old

Bob Lord must have had turnstiles that didn't register people, when you look at the crowd and then the official attendance. You couldn't get many more in there but the ground officially held over 40,000 and the attendance was 32,000

Football is a form of entertainment, sadly it wasn't for the last couple of seasons. It's certainly entertaining now. Brilliant to watch UTC

Did he play football Jimmy would I have know him?
He only played at kickabouts on Edgeside, I think following the Clarets was more important to him than playing in local leagues.

In the late sixties we played Liverpool in a night match. The old Cricket Field end had been taken over by Liverpool fans well before the Kick off. Me and my mate walked under the stand through the concourse in order to get to the Longside where the Burnley fans were assembled en masse. All we heard...

That final was a memorable day, with a crowd never likely to be repeated. We were sat on the grass bank behind the seats as there was no room on the seats , we created a mountain of empty cans as the day progressed

Re: ARTICLE: Italy beckons for Burnley as we draw SSC Napoli

I will never forget the atmosphere that night. The Old Standing Cricket Field End (where my Dad said I wasn't allowed to stand there, but did) was rocking.
