Re: Burnley v Brentford - Player Ratings

Muric 9 and man of the match. Not because of any particular save but you could physically see how much calmer the defence was knowing that they had him in the net. What a difference. Other than that, Fofana looks assured. 8. Shame he won’t be playing next game and that he (most likely) won’t be here...

Chelsea away

Hi all. Long shot I know but didn't realise the Chelsea game had sold out so if anyone has 2 spares they want rid of, I will happily take them.

Cheers

Re: Favourite films of all time

The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 (the 70s one, although the remake with Denzel is actually quite good) North by Northwest Diabolique (1955, not the remake) Marathon Man (is it safe?) Out of Sight (should have won best picture) The Princess Bride Inside Man (that man Denzel again) Training Day (there’s a t...

Re: Spurs v Chelsea

Not for me, a great effort by Spurs but the officials decided the game in the first half. The result reflects the actions of the officials not the effort of the Spurs team. Lol, sorry but there's no way in hell anybody actually believes that. The result reflects the actions of two sp*rs players who...

Re: Al Dakhill

At the start of the second half I was (metaphorically) spitting feathers. Don’t care what was said (yes, I am assuming something was said) but you don’t take off an 18 year old defender who has performed quite well so far this season 5 minutes after he’s scored an own goal. And that’s before you tak...

Re: Next seasons kit

Man City blue collar ? as opposed to the Aston Villa blue and claret that we’ve been copying almost every season since … oh yes 1910 ? Just had to log in to like that. Made me chuckle. Does make me wonder if people do actually know that. I'm sure many do but just occasionally I do think twice.. My ...

Brilliant stuff, top man AC. It's people like you that remind me not everyone on this planet should be included in my daily 'I hate people' diatribe.

Re: Where are Clarets fans from outside of Burnley?

I like this kind of thread but not sure how this will go down so here goes… Born in west London, family all Chelsea fans. Moved up to Saltaire in 2003. Had a season ticket at Chelsea for 17 years, until 2016. Two sons, born 2011 and 2015. They were never going to support Leeds. Bradford City just ha...

I have an under 12 ticket for JML upper Block 1 if you still need one. Don't want anything for it.

Re: Name the next manager

He was mentioned earlier in the thread, even if we were interested in him, I can't see why he'd entertain joining a club heading to the Championship. Apologies, missed any post mentioning him. However, isn’t that what he did when he went to Newcastle? I think he knows he isn’t going to get a ‘big’ ...

Re: Chelsea

Sorry Chester, I have no idea how you quote on here. ANd to warn, this is a ramble, so apologies. You are correct, there are some who will object or who will at the very least voice concerns. I did the very same in a bar in Stuttgart in 2004. However, my point is that when the success comes (and it ...

Re: Chelsea

Don't the majority of clubs run at a loss though? I don't normally like to get involved in 'history' arguments but ALL clubs at one point were mid table or worse. Chelsea were there or thereabouts in the 90s (should have won the league in 98-99 but for a few dodgy results towards the end of the seas...

Re: Cornets Volley

Although I now take my 10 year old son to t'Turf, I had a season ticket at Chelsea in my former (born) down south life. I have seen many special goals in the flesh, so to speak (Gudjohnsen overhead v Leeds, Zola back heel volley v Norwich, Crespo v Wigan, to name but a few) but Cornet's was equally ...

Quite a bit was filmed in Saltaire; exterior shots of the mill (Salts Mill), the row of shops on Victoria Road, Albert Terrace and Herbert Street. The train station was Keighley.

Jack Ikin/Lancs Cricket

I notice that there are quite a few threads on here about cricket, and specifically Lancashire so I wondered if anyone on here knows a bit about Jack Ikin's family history? I ask as, many moons ago, whilst reading a copy of The Cricketer (which was printed by the company my dad worked for) my granda...
