As a headline it's great, but Boris Johnson later confirmed to the BBC it would be raised to £9,500 in the first budget of a Tory government, with no timetable for the additional £3,000. It's bit like their pledge to raise the minimum wage to £10.50. Sounds impressive until you read the small print...

There is a difference between the level you qualify for state pension etc which is the lower earnings limit of £118 a week whereas you don’t start paying National Insurance until £166 a week. So unless the Tories plan on increasing the LEL to £12k those lowest paid workers will still be eligible Ye...

typical michael oliver performance, fairly solid, but gets the big decisions wrong. i called it as a dive straight away from the other end of the ground so how he couldn't tell from 10 yards away is mystifying.

Very much in the mould of Michael Oliver. Decent ref but gets the big decisions badly wrong. The foul on Barnes whether in the area or not, was a clear foul, right in front of him. Not sending off amadou, twice, was really poor. Goid job neither decision cost us today.

The best save I have seen live was Marlon away at Liverpool in the cup on a Tuesday night. Jan Molby shot from outside the box into the top corner. Out of nowhere came Marlons hand to put it over the bar. The save was on the opening bit of Granada soccer night for a few years. I remember that well....

Made one of the best double saves I've ever seen in one of his first games for us. Came out and blocked a shot near the edge of the box then somehow got back to stop the follow-up on the line. Pretty sure it was against Plymouth.
