Re: Some big games today

Of course we could simply go to OT tomorrow and win which would make tonight’s results irrelevant 👍

If we think Norwich Villa and Bournemouth will go down then we need wins today for Watford and Brighton. Its so tight and still 45 points to play for

Re: 1947 FA Cup Final

I was born the day after the 1947 FA Cup final (27-04-1947). My dad, who had a ticket, couldn’t go because of my arrival into the world and I don’t think he ever forgave me for spoiling what would have been a special day out. He had been to every other round of the cup but missed out on the big one...

Re: The old Calder Vale ground ....

There used to be a very big piece of concrete, which was part of the Greyhound Stadium, on the site of the new Towneley car park. FCBurnley, part of the Athletic stadium, was sited on where we had an allotment. Burnley Director and Chairman Mr E D Kay who won many sprint races including the old fam...

Brilliant stuff about the stadiums. No wonder the speedway team didn’t last long if they couldn’t even get crash helmets to fit the riders heads. Very funny and nostalgic pics

Re: 1947 FA Cup Final

FCBurnley, I'm just trying to recall whether we we went together on the train to Wembley 62?, but can't remember. I'd a quick chat, before the game ysday with your old next door neighbour. Like me his joints are buggered. I remember Steven Edwards and Jim being there. We certainly went on the train...

We still got to add to the squad. Barnes and JGB will be out for a while. Hopefully one or two including Mee and Cork will get a rest v Norwich. Bardsley was struggling at the end today. We are taking a huge risk on no more injuries if we don’t bring any bodies in. Very tight league this this year a...

I am 72 and walk a brisk 3 miles every morning before breakfast. During my walk I plan the rest of my day. Get rid of all the things in the house that you are snacking on because you are bored. If they are not in the house you can’t eat them.

No real options due to injuries and lack of signings. Looks like we spent a ton getting DD to be fit enough to help save Villa. Hopefully not at our expense. Another defeat today I fear. Maybe just maybe we could nick a point which would not be the worst result in the world
