Re: Is the club better off now since SD left ?
Is it? Most will argue that SD built the club on and off the field, finances and the choices he campaigned for played a part in that - he made regularly reference to it and has done the same at Everton, refusing incoming transfers as he arrived because of the financial situation, even though they w...

Re: Why we are going down
It's right that we can never go into a game against the top teams expecting a win. However, barring a miracle at Spurs this will be our first season in the Premier League era where we haven't beaten a single one. In every previous Premier League season we have beaten one of the top 5. Good stat. No...

Re: Is the club better off now since SD left ?
is it? In October 2022 the external debt was £32.8m - it has more than doubled since with added monies taken from future cash flow via a factoring deal on the Premier League monies. The MSD loan held then has been replaced three times since - with the club stating that the first two of those loans ...

Good stalking CP. How on earth do you find these things? So some interesting info on Brett: 1. He’s ex Dell. So there’s that Dell link again. Whether that’s coincidence, old mates, whatever, or something more relevant who knows? 2. He’s written 40 books and is a best seller. Amazon tells me they’re ...

Re: Why we are going down
All I can say is that mine are never ever that we will beat the top 8 or so in the league. I always go in to them expecting a loss. Below that I’m a bit more hopeful and confident.

I think we will have to do fantastically well in the loan market this Summer. It worked last time but there are no guarantees. Re: Is the club better off now since SD left ?
The off field stuff is all takeover related, which had happened by the time Dyche left, so we were facing in to that in any event. Squad-wise I think we’re worse off, no Pope, Mee, Tarks or McNeil and still have Weghorst but out on loan. It’s clear we don’t have that experience or quality now. That ...

Personally I think it has since January.
I don’t expect this system or any system will regularly beat the big boys in this league though, so perspectives will always depend how your expectations are set.

Re: Is the club better off now since SD left ?
Very interesting summer ahead. If the majority of the players are with us next season and get back up, possibly. If as I suspect there is another merry-go-round of players then no. At the moment we seem to have a set of players who play for Burnley but don’t really look like they buy into the Burnl...

Re: Why we are going down
Our defense Roberts and Taylor should have played more. Muric as our no. 1 all season. Plenty of games Cork would have been great even just to see out games. We have dumped over 20 points from winning positions. Tean selection and use of Subs / Game management has been the real issue. That falls to...

Re: Why we are going down
I think the squad balance/transfer dealings weren’t good enough. Too inexperienced, too many attacking fwds. I understand the need for resale value but could we not have sacrificed a few of them for a Prem experienced CB, CM & CF? Maybe I’m being final unrealistic, but it had better chance of insta...

Re: Going Down With Barely a Whimper
How many times have we seen it this season, home or away? We start off well for 15-20 mins but miss our chances, other team goes down the other end score with their first meaningful attack, we capitulate... To be fair, I think our biggest chance was a certain pen that wasn’t given. You can’t really...

Re: The 'Penalty'
This. I'm surprised more hasn't been made of this. I've seen it back and it's as clear a penalty as you can get and quite probably a red card but because we put in a pitiful performance thereafter it has been overlooked as if it wouldn't have mattered. It would have changed the game immeasurably at...

I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the loan “obligations” have been misreported. JBL was reported to be a cast iron obligation, but Kompany suggested it that it wasn’t a few weeks ago. I’d also be surprised if we are genuinely on the hook to pay £15m+ for Tresor. If we were, I’d have thought we’d h...

As the new seats are narrower wonder how much we've increased capacity No increase in capacity, apparently, which I find strange. Maybe there’s a slight decrease in the away end that balances off a small increase in home? I assume if we did the whole stand at some point there would be an increase w...

Yeah it just seems so random that they come available in batches. Just can’t imagine 17 people suddenly decided they couldn’t attend a match three days prior. If they came available in ones and twos I’d find it more understandable.

I’m expecting the Jimmy Mac lower hospitality area to be full of Newcastle fans. Also seems to be more away fans then home fans in there. The club don’t care who is in the seats, all they care about is the money. The stewards rarely do out as they are underpaid, under trained and can’t speak much e...
