Re: Nottingham Forest tweet
I don’t see the clamour for ex-pro’s, they often don’t know the laws. I don’t know the answer to the poor quality of referees in this country, but as far as VAR is concerned, it should be manned by specialist video referee’s, not the on-field ref’s mate who’s being given a rest-day. Being a VAR req...

It's certainly true VAR has shafted us, and without it we'd be safe, but hand on heart looking at our overall performances, we can't have any complaints. If only we'd found this form earlier, or the fixture list had been kinder. It always felt like we would be on an uphill struggle.

We live in a democracy, and changes to the FA Cup should have been voted on by all affiliated clubs. When we get relegated despite Forest and Everton both being deducted points, it'll be pretty difficult to argue that we don't deserve it. I think the norm is that 2 teams deserve to go, but the third team are just unlucky. This season at least 5 teams deserve to go, and the 2 that stay up have been...

This Everton side are better than most of Dyche’s Burnley sides. Particularly in central midfield and upfront with Calvert Lewin. This thread is abusing them but they will stay up easily. There is something wrong with this season, and it isn't just the results. I've felt disengaged from the club, too many new faces, too many changes, I don't know. I do know I've missed more matches this season than in the last 6 combined. I'm renewing my season ticket anyway, a season in the Champion...

The problem is Lyle and Fofana play the same position, and both deserve to start. Playing either out of position to accommodate them is a big mistake though. We could play 2 up front, but as we've seen it just leaves midfield weak and wide open. I'd prefer to give one an hour, and depending on the s...

Playing out from the back has many benefits, but it has to be played with some common sense. Firstly you play the percentages, if it's safe great but any doubt get rid safely. Just put it in row z. Secondly it invites the press, which is a good thing if you get the first part right. If you move the ...

We could have played well and been relegated anyway. There have been plenty of errors, the only criticism I'd throw at Kompany is stubbornness. We saw the same last season, and from Muric. Cockups like yesterday happen, you just pray they aren't critical, and in a must win game.
He'll probably do it again at some point, but I'd still prefer Muric in goal. He offers far more positives than negatives.

I think that's more to do with individuals than tactics. Some players just want to head it and tend to be like a magnet for it. Think how Van Dijk transformed Liverpool. We don't have a player like that at present VVD attacks the ball, and is playing for a team that can drop the ball on a sixpence....

It's the tactics that are wrong. Take another look at Wolves equaliser, not a single Burnley players feet left the floor. It doesn't matter how tall you are if you don't jump. We mark space, we block runs, but nobody attacks the ball. Tarks and Mee made sure one or the other got on the end of anythi...

9 times out of 10 balls into the box are won by the player attacking the ball. We are OK for our corners, just the delivery is so poor it takes the advantage away. It's difficult to attack the ball when the ball isn't where it's supposed to be. The bigger problem is defending corners and free kicks,...
