Re: Parkinson's disease

My wife has early onset PD, diagnosed aged 36. At first it was well managed by the drugs, but all they do is mask symptoms, it continues to progress. Now nearly ten years on, more drugs are required to manage it not so well. Many aspects of life are affected including mobility and this can vary from...

Re: Southend United

I lived in Southend when they were in the Championship. They were doing better than we were for sure. The story I heard was that Dave Webb went to see Ron Martin, who was and still is the chairman. He asked for funds to get the team over the line into the PL and was refused on the grounds that they ...

Re: 2022/23: Queens Park Rangers v Burnley – Ticket Information

I quite like going to Loftus Road. Looking forward to it. Seats a bit cramped but always enjoy it there, usually a good atmosphere. Don't think I've ever seen us lose there, particularly remember the Andrew Cole hat-trick

Re: A338 to Bournemouth

You can come off at ringwood, and it is a straight road to Christchurch, then along barrack road following Bournemouth and boscombe, where you can walk to the ground at kings park. Alternatively catch a train from Christchurch to pokesdown , which is one stop away, and walk from there about 10 to 1...

Re: A338 to Bournemouth

Left the main Southampton to Bournemouth Road at 1.45 and arrived in Boscombe 2.05pm, we saw little traffic Must have been breaking the speed limit pretty much all the way, especially if you went through the Forest or around Lymington. We get a lot of dead ponies and cows with people ignoring the s...

Re: A338 to Bournemouth

Don't try taking A35 off the M27. Being Easter you will be stuck in a queue at Lyndhurst for ages. Going into Bournemouth from the east on Saturday is grim. A338 is a no go zone. Best off getting the train to Pokesdown and walk.

My daughter just bought a 3008. Really lovely car, Peugeot quite up market these days, solid build and nice materials. At the other extreme, I just traded in my 7 year old Peugeot 5008 that I had from new for an 8 year old loaded up Land Rover Freelander 2. What a cracking vehicle, drives like new a...

I am flying Qantas in a couple of weeks. I will prime Mrs NFC to refer to me as husband and daughter to use mum and dad. Will listen out to their language to see if it is used in practice. Load of wombats do's if you ask me.

If Liverpool had any sense they would sign Tarks and VanDyck.
Not if you had seen VanDyke at Southampton when Vokes and Barnes came on. He really didn't want to get stuck in.

Looks great, will surely help wit the atmosphere as well as providing great facilities. Would it be possible to fully glaze the JH stand at the CF end? Or are there plans for that end too?

Barnsley. We have just had Virgin Media cables laid in our town. Had a Virgin salesman in who swore his mate from school was on loan at Burnley in the past. I was sure I didn't recognise the name but went along with him. Looked it up after he'd gone, sure enough he was on loan at Barnsley...

BBC Attention to detail!

From BBC Burnley report:

"Oumar Niasse, who scored two goals as a substitute against Bournemouth last week, bent a shot from outside the area straight into the hands of Nick Hope in the Bournemouth goal."

Re: Flying to Southampton

Southampton airport is tiny and getting through security is a breeze. I would have thought the 18:55 is comfortable if you get the train to Parkway. Can take a little while to get out the ground and over the railway bridge but the 17:20 should be doable. Less than 5 mins from train to the terminal.

Corbyn, McDonnell, Abbott, Thornberry, Chakrabati, Watson? Seriously, running the country? Wow, if you don't find that scary or lacking in judgement you probably shouldn't be allowed to vote. I agree with just about everything being said about how poor is Theresa May, but I wouldn't trust that bunc...

But surely someone with thirty odd years experience in his field is be listened to ahead of, oh I don't know, a couple of contributors to a football forum? Very good. But how do you make up your mind which expert to listen to? The one the BBC tells you to? The one your mate agrees with? The one tha...

"The issue with people making up their own minds is that it isn't done critically." We all have to make our minds up somehow. It is simply not fair to assume that everyone makes their mind up according to what they read in the Daily Mail, or the BBC for that matter. But actually, how is that any dif...

Trouble with experts is that most of them represent the view of those who pay or direct them, or have a theory or opinion and provide the one sided evidence to back it up. As with forecasts of immediate disaster after Brexit: - Those experts who led us to a nutrition disaster by telling us that fat ...

What is really annoying is when you live 15 minutes away and a mate works for a company that is a supplier to Bournemouth and is bang on to get me hospitality tickets, only for my wife to say "aren't you in the Lake District that weekend?"
