Rugby refs both Union and League are superb. Greatly helped by the fact they don’t have players in their ear all the game. Football could learn so much from rugby. From memory the early 70's team had goals from all over the pitch, not necessarily in the same season. 5000th post must be worth a parteeeee. What winds me up about French refs is that British players enquire of British refs get an explanation and walk away smiling. With French refs they just look bemused. You don’t know what tweak of the rules they’ll come up with next.
