Re: Shareholders' letter

(Continued) Culmclaret thinks the offer is shabby! I think we would be crazy to ignore it. Anyone not taking up the offer will live to regret it.

Re: Shareholders' letter

I may have missed it, but does anyone actually understand what is going on with all these different companies being involved as per the first page of the letter? I used to work in finance, and I don't understand why there needs to be so many companies involved. I can only think that they are trying ...

Re: Shareholders' letter

Being a shareholder once gave us a voice at the AGM. This opportunity has been taken away therefore I shall sell my two shares. I have written to the club two or three times over the past two years without receiving a reply. This is the way the world is - individuals have no say and are ignored.

Re: What Sean Dyche has delivered in his nearly 9 year tenure

Won and lost by fine margins. We could easily have been 3 up by half time but for the woodwork. Goodmundson chose the wrong option prior to hitting the post - Wood was running into space and would have had a better chance to score. Unusually, the defence were not savvy enough. Brighton had been tryi...

Re: What about the smaller shareholders?

Thanks for your comments, Paul Waine and spijed. Interestingly, I have just received notification from Companies House that our Memorandum and Articles of Association have been lodged today. Not being very well clued up on these matters, I wonder if they have been altered or what. However, as a shar...

Re: What about the smaller shareholders?

Am I alone (as a shareholder of 2) in feeling totally ignored by the club during the takeover talks? Not only that, but minority shareholders have to fend for ourselves on the Internet if we want to know anything about the financial position of the club. I suspect that like me, many are older suppor...

Re: Ennio Morricone dies aged 91

The description 'genius' is overused - except in EM's case. Wonderful composer who will influence many in the future.

Re: James Tarkowski, at fault for the equaliser!!

I'm sure Dyche will have something to say. His comments to the team will mean more than all ours put together.

Re: Everton Weekes dies

PPS. I have found a notice in the Bacup Times stating that Everton Weekes married Joan Delores Manning on 3 February 1951. The wedding took place in Barbados.

Re: Everton Weekes dies

I have several books on Bacup, but details of his private life are sparse. Even Wikipedia doesn't mention his wife, only his children. I have this memory of a young woman in the shop who I assumed was his wife. Sorry I can't be more specific. I'm now going to trawl through the 1951 Bacup Times I pos...

Re: Everton Weekes dies

I watched him regularly as a junior member at Bacup ( I had his autograph on my membership card where did that go?) Opposing teams would bat as long as they could to prevent Weekes knocking off the runs. They rarely succeeded! He developed into a very good spin bowler as well. He opened a sports sho...
