Burnley slang would be 'on't Turf', shortening 'the'

'At Turf Moor' or 'at the Turf' would be the queen's English.

Wouldn’t the Burnley slang be “on t’Turf” with the apostrophe substituting for the missing “he” ?

Turf Moor is a Cricket Ground and a Football Ground. It was a cricket ground long before the football club moved there. It was the place where the town’s greatest sportsman started his career.
