I moved to Lytham when I was nearly eight, so most of my schoolfriends were Blackpool supporters. To me, Blackpool were the big rivals, much more so than Blackburn.
I still don't like them, and I hope they don't go up.

Whatever they do, whether it be loyalty points, season ticket holders who paid up front and didn't request a refund, or anything else, the Club has less than a fortnight to sort it out.

I was born seven days before the start of the season, when we lost 0-1 at home to Middlesbrough.

Three days later we were again at home, beating Stoke 3-2, Les Shannon(2) and Jimmy Mac being the scorers.

This was before segregation, so those Clarets who were there would be spread out.

I went to most away games that season, and apart from Blackpool and Preston you wouldn't have known there were any away fans present. I'm sure we must have had a big following at Villa Park, but you couldn't tell.

If you add on all the singles that Curran turned down because he wanted to retain the strike, we could have won that.

Unless the batsman at the other end is a complete rabbit, which Wood isn't, in a tight finish like that you should take every run available.
