Re: Amazon Prime - FIFA Official World Cup Films

The 1966 one is an absolute hoot. Narrated by Nigel Patrick in a very British stiff upper lip fashion, it originally came out as a cinema released film entitled ‘Goal’. It had everything from the Portuguese coming back from being 3-0 down to North Korea to win 5-3 (while the nation had been forced t...

Labour Leadership Election

Obviously overshadowed by current events but they will supposedly have a new leader on Saturday. The fact that it’s taken them four months to elect the new leader just about beggars belief. Who will win, I wonder? I personally sense a behind close doors stitch up.

A Credible Opposition Party

I was just wondering if there was a credible opposition party and shadow cabinet to assist in any way with the tumultuous decisions that are having to be made at this time and then I remembered that they are, of course, still in a period of ‘reflection’. Oh well, at least that makes me feel just so ...

He came on. He looked lively and could have scored. Two good chances. He missed them. Wood had quite a few chances. He scored one but missed the others, one a sitter. Vydra will get more chances to come on and I'm sure that he'll score a few more goals.

You’re missing the point - he’s done something that he never normally does, making an unenforced substitution early on, with a player just coming back from injury as well. I don’t know why so many people are rooting for Bournemouth to go down. It’s a nice little ground, they give the away supporters decent seats at the side of the pitch as opposed to behind the goal and, beside all that, it’s easy for for me to get there as I live here.
