We used Insure and go last time although it was pre pandemic. My wife has a few health issues but I think it was about £150 for 7 nights.

Ignoring it used to be the thing to do but the rules were changed a few years ago to make it easier and cheaper to get a court judgment for these parasites, they can and do use the courts.

Have you driven in France before? If you are not near a town on Saturday afternoon make sure you fill with petrol, when we rode there many of the petrol stations out in the sticks closed Saturday at 5 or 6 PM and did not open till Monday lunch time.
