Re: England v New Zealand

Buttler was able to pick up runs as soon as he came in and was scoring at around a run a ball all through his innings. No other English batter, even Root who is normally excellent at it, could work the ball to keep ticking over.

Buttler made it look very easy by comparison.

New Zealand were much better at keeping the score ticking over with ones and twos so it was no surprise that we had to hit so many more boundaries to tie the game.

Hussain was explaining that Jimmy hadn’t worked out what his best end was at Lords. Our win rate is really low. Even with a home advantage the slope puts so many variables into the game that we struggle to master it. Similar to a poor pitch at football. It’s harder to play on and acts as an equalis...

Would be an interesting rule change if they had to explain their review. If our cricketers win on Sunday, which teams will they be joining as English World Cup winners?

Off top of my head I can think of:
Football 1966, obviously
Rugby Union 2003
2020 cricket 2010
Women’s cricket 2009 & 2017

I’m sure there must be loads more
